We will be holding our May meeting, THURSDAY, May 14th, at 7:00pm in person and on Zoom.
We will be going over all the details of the upcoming MassDems State Convention, to be held at the end of the month in Worcester. If you are a FIRST-TIME DELEGATE you will NOT want to miss this meeting! We are going to cover a ton of what the Party does NOT cover in their emails – so if you want to know more, be there!

BRUNCH 2026!
BRUNCH 2026 was a fantastic success! All three candidates for United States Senate, two lifetime achievement award winners, and three incredible graduates receiving scholarships!
Not to mention over 100+ guests and supporters who joined us on a day where the rain held off to allow for a gorgeous view of our working waterfront from Gloucester’s Cruiseport!
Thank you to the Brunch Committee; Chair Matthew Murray who arranged for our guests and show running (et al), Vice Chair Rani Jacobson who connected with our new venue and laid out the programs (et al), Christopher Sicuranza for design work and co-hosting, Liz Murray for guidance and keeping alive the sprit of Joe Nogelo via the institutional memory of Brunches past, Maiuza Alves for decoration, and Dave Marro and Bevan Worell on set-up, and Jen Holmgren for designing the save-the-date, flyers and McCarthy Award Certificates!
Thank you also to the scholarship committee for reading through our NINETEEN applications this year and choosing the three winners – Matthew Murray, Rani Jacobson, Amy Shapiro, Liz Murray, Jeremy McKeen, and Representative Dru Tarr.
Thank you also to Alana Murphy and Liz Murray for interviewing Ann Rhinelander and Mary Catherine Kingsley respectively for their McCarthy Awards; and producing the awardees’ biographies as they appeared in the event program. (Thank you also to Christopher Sicuranza for editing the bios and making them fit perfectly!)
REP TARR TAKES HIS SEAT!
Congratulations to State Representative Andrew ‘Dru’ Tarr, on his election on March 31st, and swearing-in on April 15th!
Rep Tarr succeeds his late boss, Ann-Margaret Ferrante in the chamber where he now sits at her old desk.
Don’t forget, as this was a special election, we’ll need to do the work to return Dru to the House next year in this Fall’s regular elections!

It’s a new year and we have an election date coming up this spring and TWO this Fall! – and our City is short on Election Workers! Not only that, the workers we do have are largely from the GOP!

Welcome to 2026! We have an exciting year ahead of us. Below is our calendar for the year. You may notice one big change, we have moved our regular monthly meeting BACK to our traditional night of the SECOND THURSDAY of the month.
Unless otherwise noted, All meetings are in person, though we will try to provide a hybrid link to observe meetings from home via zoom. When available, the Zoom link is the same for every meeting – so save it if you think you’ll need it. Meetings (starting with April) will begin at 7pm, on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the

If you are able to, please consider making a recurring, monthly donation of just $5, $10 or even $20. Our current monthly expenses are such that, if only a dozen folks made a recurring donation of $10 or $20 we would be completely covered month-to-month!
